About damn time. All those stores, one on top of each other, selling overpriced coffee and negelcting the grey hairs. Yes the grey hairs. Fact is most retired amaericans cannot afford a 4-5$ cup of coffee. Think of how much business Starbucks would generate if they catered to them, by bringing back the 1$ cup of java. The volume alone would bring them back in to stable economic shape. Instead Shultz has them jumping into the smoothy market. Pathetic.

One coffee drinker’s bad news is another coffee drinker’s good news, it seems.

Financial woes at Starbucks Corp., which is planning to close 600 underperforming U.S. stores, is evoking glee and little sympathy from aficionados who say they resent the coffee shop giant and favor small independent cafes.
